Our number one selling product
Elderberry Syrup is one of the most widely used wellness products for supporting and boosting the body's immune system.
Often taken to help fight off the cold and flu viruses, elderberry syrup is the go-to wellness product for many people who are trying to stay healthy.
Our elderberry syrup is handcrafted in small batches with certified organic elderberries from sustainable family farms, certified organic herbs and raw honey from our apiaries in the heart of the Mount Dandenongs.
Certified Organic Elderberries
To make the best Elderberry Syrup, you have to start with the best elderberries. And at this point in time, there’s just no comparison when it comes to European Black Elderberries. Most European nations have much more stringent regulations regarding pesticides and herbicides than other countries. This leads to much cleaner and healthier soil for crops. No pesticides and GMO. Our Elderberries are Australian Certified Organic, and come from Albania or Bosnia.
There is also a long and documented history of European sources producing top-quality pharmaceutical grade elderberries under tight regulations that maximise the immune-boosting power of the herbal remedy.
Star Anise and Cinnamon
Traditionally used as a spice and also as a healing herb, star anise appears to have medicinal properties that endow it with significant health benefits. For example Star anise is the primary source of shikimic acid, a plant-based compound that is the precursor to oseltamivir, an antiviral medication that is marketed as Tamiflu!!
Many studies have been done on echinacea for the common cold and other upper respiratory tract infections. Used for over 400 years by Native Americans. Today it is used by many people all over the world as a natural cure to the common cold, but it has many more health benefits due to its high concentration of vitamin C, alkylamides, selenium, polysaccharides, and more.
What makes our Honey so special?
When choosing honey you have likely come across labels that use words like “raw,” “pure,” “organic,” and “unfiltered” – but you may be left asking what exactly the difference is.
A “pure honey” means that you are getting 100% honey, without any other ingredients (such as corn syrup, which is sometimes added to industrial honey to reduce costs).
The difference between raw honey and pure honey is that in addition to being pure, “raw” honey has not been heated to the point of pasteurization (no higher than 45°c). The benefit of not heating honey is that the naturally-occurring enzymes, vitamins and minerals are preserved and you get the full benefits of them from eating raw honey. As beekeepers who produce raw honey we are aware how to care for the bees and this has a big impact on the honey you eat.
Organic honey is produced from the pollen of organically grown plants, and without chemical pesticides and herbicides. Our bees roam the mountain tops of our private property in our biodynamic garden. Free of pesticides and nasty chemicals.
Un Filtered. “Filtering” honey means processing the honey to remove very small particles, often even as small as the pollen. Filtering honey is not the same as straining honey, which is commonly done to remove bee parts and other large debris prior to jarring while still retaining the pollen and other beneficial qualities of honey. With filtration, honey is also often heated to become more liquid in order to make the filtering process easier, meaning that the honey is no longer raw. Choosing raw unfiltered honey ensures the most properties have been preserved.
Rest assured that our honey is Pure, Raw, Organic and un Filtered.
