What is an electuary?

An electuary is a traditional preparation in which powdered fruits, herbs and botanicals are blended into honey to make a rich paste. The botanicals remain in the blend rather than being strained out, giving every spoonful its natural texture and depth. We call it a Beauty Elixir for the ritual it creates: an old-world preparation thoughtfully reimagined for today.

The Beauty Ritual was created as I approached 50. I felt more certain of who I was, yet increasingly surrounded by products telling women to fear ageing. I wanted something different: a delicious daily ritual made with recognisable ingredients that celebrates caring for ourselves through every stage of life. Not anti-ageing. Simply a moment to savour.

Your daily ritual

Enjoy one level teaspoon (7 g) daily, straight from the spoon or stirred through warm water, tea, yoghurt, porridge or a smoothie. It is lovely spread over toast, too. Use warm rather than boiling water for drinks and stir well; natural sediment from the botanical powders is normal. A 300 g jar provides approximately 43 servings.
